San Francisco Nutcracker Ballet

I just got done watching the San Francisco Ballet perform The Nutcracker on television and I was blown away.

The ability that these professional dancers had to make it seem like gravity didn't even exist was incredible.

Their leaps would be so high and graceful.

Their bodies had muscles that you could only achieve after hours upon hours of practicing every day.

Watching the performance truly gave me a new respect for the physical capabilities that these people were able to achieve.

Courage

To me, courage when you don't want to do something, are scared to do something, or feel something is very risky to do, but you still do it.

It usually takes a lot of courage to push your comfort zone.

It can be anything from finding the courage to serve for our country or to find the courage to stand up for yourself when your being bullied.

I think courage and bravery are qualities that coexist together.

Courage is a quality that is looked very highly upon.

Christmas Music

Christmas music is something that can lift my spirits on any day.

It is something that helps me look forward to November 29th every year. (My dad doesn't let us play Christmas music until after Thanksgiving day)

There are no negative or inappropriate lyrics in Christmas music and they always have an uplifting beat or a deep thinking tone.

Leadership

Leadership, like most other traits, are something that some people are born naturally with while others have to work harder to express it.

Leadership is the ability to take control of a situation and set an example to others of how things should be handled.

Some people use their leadership in a positive way. Standing up for not only their rights and others around them. Also having the ability to help show others around them positive things to reflect on.

Other people may use their leadership abilities to pressure people or misguide them.

Situations like that are when each person has to be their own leader and decide which road they want to travel upon.

Leadership is a quality that has no limit on how much you can express and has no limit to who expresses it.

Giving

Giving is something that I believe is very important for us to do to grow as people.

I feel like so many people focus on themselves and doing things to help them.

Giving can even been a therapeutic thing in life too. Helping someone else who is in need can be one of the most uplifting feelings you can get.

Giving back is something that is never out of style or outdated either so it's something you can do your whole life.

Eos Lip Balm

Eos (Evolution Of Smoothness)
This lip balm is by far the best I have ever used during my 16 years of existence on earth.

Not only does it some in a fun circular container but it actually works very well!

They come in different flavors too so you can pick  your favorite.

I personally like the yellow lemon one but that is also the only one I have tried.

I highly suggest you purchase some Eos Lip Balm for winter and chapped lips are approaching!

Hope

To me, hope is the thing in life that makes people continue living.

To hope for something better for yourself, the people around you.or for things all over the world.

Hope is what helps you have a desire for something. To keep working to achieve the best.

Hope is something that makes people believe that when things are down that they will get better.

Hope (n)-
the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best

Adaptation

Adaptation is something that is crucial for survival.

In order to live an organism must be able to adapt and live in the climate/habitat that they are in.

Adaptation can be anything from physical changes to mental changes to stay alive.

If an organism cannot adapt to their surroundings they will not live for much longer because they will be lacking something essential for living.

San Fran!!

Although it is only November 7th, I am already getting exctied to go to San Franciso for Thanksgiving break to see my family.

My family lives all around in the country in New Hampshire, Colorado, California, and Arizona.

For Thanksgiving we all meet in San Fran for 5 days and I love it.

I am already counting down the days!

18 days until take off.

Difference Between Humans and Animals

I do believe that humans and animals are more similar to each other than what meets the eye.
Humans and most animals usually have a way of communication with one another, a way to reproduce, survival instincts, and many of the same basic needs to live.

So what makes humans stand out from the animals?
Not only with appearance are we quite unique, but the ways we transport ourselves, the sizes of our brains, our longevity, or just more advances in everything.

I do believe it would be correct of me to state that a majority of animals do not walk on two feet, also known as bipedal. Because humans are capable of walking on two feet it frees our hands to do other things letting us multitask which may be too complicated for other animals.

Our more advanced brains also make it possible to have multiple ways of communicating with one another, making better choices, coming up with a financial system and many other complex things.

Although we may share many similar traits with animals I do believe the differences are what stand out.

Rountine

Monday-
Wake up
Get ready for school
Go to school
Go to dance
Eat dinner
Do homework
Take a bath
Go to bed

Repeat Monday routine Tuesday-Friday.

I have come to notice that the schedule I have listed above has come to be a routine of mine for 5 out of the 7 days in a week.

I am a girl who loves change and to keep things interesting so coming to this realization has brung me down in the slumps a little bit.

So how I am going to change things up and make things more interesting is still in debate.

And when I say still in debate I mean I have no idea.

But at least it's a start to making a change by realizing you need to make one!

Beauty

beauty-
the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
Although this is the definition of beauty from dictionary.com many people have different views of what beauty is.
For some people when they think of beauty they think of an attractive person or the make-up they put on their face to make them appear to be attractive.
Others think of it as more of an internal quality as someone's character of personality.
While some look to humans a reflection of beauty others look to the nature and habitat around them.
The natural things that grow on this earth have a certain enlightening beauty to them that draws creatures to them.
Beauty is something that can have different meanings to anyone but is usually something that brings someone pleasure to see, feel, hear, or even think about.

3D not for me

Lately I have made the observation that there are more and more 3D movies coming out.

I personally despise 3D movies. I think they are so uncomfortable to watch.

I can think of multiple reasons why 3D movies are just not worth watching-
  • Having the screen come out at you is only cool for 2 minutes, not a whole 2 hour movie
  • The glasses are uncomfortable and hurt my eyes to look through the lenses
  • As if movies aren't already expensive, they are 2 dollars more to watch in 3D
It really heats me too that they are trying to make the newest Harry Potter movie coming out in 3D.
I don't want to watch it with the distractions, headache, or price of 3D.

Procrastination Problems

I have a problem.

I procrastinate with my homework.

I don't believe I am the only high schooler in the world with this problem.

In fact, I think a majority of the people in my school have this problem.

What is it that causes me to not just sit down after dinner and do my homework?
Why do I wait until 11 o'clock to even open my backpack?
Why can't I actually use the two weeks my teacher gives me to do a project instead of staying up late the night before it's due?

Is it the fact that all I want to do after 7 hours of school and 3 hours of soccer practice I just want some time to do something I want to do? Not something my teacher or coach is telling me?

Whatever it is I need to fix and soon. I like my 8 hours of sleep at night and staying up late to do homework that could be done by 9 o'clock is not helping me.

Freedom

Freedom is a right that I believe people in America abuse, and it's not entirely their fault.

I don't think people really appreciate the freedom they have in this country because most people who live here don't know how any other lifestyle is.

The ability for any gender, race, etc. to vote is one of the many freedoms we have that is often not thought twice about.

Being able to state our opinions and being able to own our own land are things in our lives that are common.

Other countries don't get the great freedoms that America has.

Women are often degraded and people of different races or religions don't have equal freedoms and rights.

Freedom is something that I think people in America need to take a little more time to be grateful for and appreciate.

Justice and Fairness

Justice and Fairness is something that makes America unique.

Justice and Fairness is what many of our laws are are based on to help serve the people with their rights and equality.

Although we aren't served justice and fairness in every situation we encounter, the justice we have in America for men and women of all races and cultures is a wonderful right we have.

Noise or Silence?

Silence.

Think what ever you want with it.

Best Stress Reliever Song

Pour Me Out by He Is We is the best song to just blast, and scream the lyrics along to.
I feel such a satisfaction after listening to it and just yelling.

Who knows if it's even the song that relieves the stress or the fact that I get to scream and let lose.

It doesn't matter to me. I just love the deep mood I am in after listening to it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXGCgg3JzZs

^^^^  I posted a youtube link to it. Download it on your ipod and just blare it in your room/car/ whatever.
Then sing along at the top of your lungs.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

The Power of Friendship

What do you consider the perfect friend?
Someone who is funny, caring, accepting, sympathetic, supportive, outgoing, appreciative and any other positive adjective?

That's how I feel that friends should be like and I am not willing to be satisfied with anything less than that.
I am also lucky enough to have found multiple friends that meet that criteria!

To me, friendship is a two way thing. In order to have good friends you need to be a good friend yourself.

I always try to be the best friend I would want to have.
Friends are vital to being happy and enjoying what I do.
Me and my two best friends enjoying the summer :)

Team Struggles

This is my second year on the varisty soccer team.
Yesterday we had a game against Mankato West, a team that we have never lost to.

Until now.
This isn't our first fluke of season.

We are starting to no longer be able to use the excuse 'just an off game'

As a team, we are debating whether our drive and passion to win is going down, it's our teams young age, or if it's just lack of skill by losing valuable seniors this year.

We are having constant changes in our formations, line ups, and positions.

Yesterday at practice we had a team talk and are ready to make a radical change in the way we word.

To break down the discord on the team, negativity is completely outlawed. Constructive critisism is okay though. But the negativity towards players, units, other teams, or coaches all need to stop.

We are ready to step over our disagreements and negativity and become the family we have been through out all the other seasons.

Getting Started

So before I actually start blogging twice a week I'm going to quick write a starter blog so anyone can get to know me.
My name is Kristina Larsen and I am a tenth grader.
I have a mom and dad that live together and an older brother named Kyle who is a senior this year.
I enjoy playing soccer, being on dance team, and running in track.
Traveling is something that really interests me and I hope to be able to travel a lot more as the years go on.
Another hobby I really enjoy is drawing or making creative things.
In the little amount of free time I get between school, sports, friends, and homework, I enjoy reading a great book in bed.
I enjoy laughing and just having a good time with the people I love.
